16-Seater Bus Bursts into Flames

Firemen failed to extinguish the blaze
A 16-seater bus suddenly burst into flames today at the McDonald Street Bus Station in Monrovia.

Fortunately, the overloaded bus had just been offloaded and was again queued up to be loaded for another trip to Paynesville from Central Monrovia. The bus operator was informed by passersby about thick fumes emanating from his vehicle and shortly thereafter, the mini bus burst into flames. The fire was said to have started from under the engine. Eyewitness accounts have it that the vehicle had no fire extinguisher. It took firemen of the Liberia National Fire Service approximately 10 minutes to drive through Ashmun Street to McDonald Street. Unfortunately, they were unable to swiftly extinguish the blaze.

The vehicle mysteriously burst into flames
